Charlie Slagle, the CEO of North Carolina’s largest soccer league, Capital Area Soccer League (CASL), has a soccer radio show that is broadcast every Saturday morning at 7AM called Back of the Net. CASL oversees around 8000 youth soccer players every year, is host to some very big tournaments (CASL Showcase, USYSA Regionals, etc.), and has teams that are regular champions throughout the state. This show will surely be interesting to youth soccer fanatics in and outside North Carolina, as Charlie has been involved in youth soccer for a LONG time and is able to tap the best and brightest in youth soccer for his shows.

His February 14th show featured a talk with Raleigh’s referee assignor Ralph Jordan, who oversees refere assignments for thousands of matches a year. They talk about how someone gets started as a referee and how far they can go if they choose.

Take some time and give it a listen.

Hint to WRAL and 99.9 The Fan – try to include a brief synopsis of what each show is about on the audio web page!
