Our teams happened to play in some really nasty weather this past weekend. Low to mid 40's, very wet fields, and light rain. Yuck!
One thing I noticed was a few players (my son included) wore knit gloves to keep their hands warm. Which worked - but when they wanted to throw in the ball, the gloves made gripping the ball next to impossible. To the point one player would yank his gloves off when the ball went out near him to throw it in, then try to get them back on. :)
So if you get gloves for your kids to wear in a soccer game, make sure they have some kind of grip surface on them so they feel comfortable throwing the ball in with them on.
