Coaching youth soccer can be a very rewarding experience, but it can also be daunting when you get started. Even if you've played soccer before or if you've coaching for a number of years, you're always learning as a soccer coach. New drills, better ways to motivate players. How do you make the light bulb go on? How do you avoid Lines, Laps and Lectures? How do you balance the right amount of tactical vs. technical instruction?
That's what this forum is about. Coaches sharing ideas with each other, talking about the good and the bad of youth soccer coaching. But parents should get involved too - what have you seen in your child's coach that made you happy they were your coach? New drills? A unique motivational style?
I'm amazed by the number of search referrals my blog gets from Google about youth soccer coaching, strategy, and drills. So share it all here and help another coach get better!
