My U12 Girls team had a rough weekend this weekend, and one of my parents snapped a picture of me during one of our matches.
Ever had one of THOSE weekends?
In good fun I responded to the whole team telling them they should caption the picture. One of the Dad’s even added graphical bubble clipart to it and I’m told it may be an end of season party game for the girls to fill in that bubble. That should be entertaining!
How was everyone else’s weekend? Have any tales from the pitch to share? Post them in our forum via the link below!
Tales From The Pitch 2009 – Week 11

Our girls ’95 team actually played well yesterday and finally won a game. The wind was bad and they seem to lost all interest in really windy games, but stuck it out.
I think one of the better things we did was finally take some shots. As much as we practice it, they always want to take that extra set up step and then lose the ball..
However I have had many a weekends with that same picture.

Up here in NY, we’re still playing indoor. Our Boys U10 team got creamed by something more than 7 goals (I stopped counting). I was pretty much like in you in that picture, although I didn’t even have a bench to sit on!

We played in the mud and rain last weekend. I’m not sure WHAT we played but it did involve a soccer ball. I lost a bet on the second game. I told the girls that if they won, I’d slide face first in the mud. You find photos here:

I saw that picture when you posted it on Facebook and had been meaning to email you to see if you’d mind if I wrote a short blog post it and your ‘bet’ That’s hilarious. I’ll send you a draft post to look at in a day or two if you’re cool with it.
There’s mud and there’s MUD

What’s funny is how much the losing team enjoyed the slide as well. The other coach said it was the best part of a rainy weekend.
