Remember when I wrote about being certifiable? Well, coaching two teams, plus having three kids playing soccer who aren’t on either of my teams made for a really busy soccer season. I barely had time to breathe, let alone write. I guess I could have written some, but I was pretty wiped out. So lets see what’s been going on…

Oooh look – Google thinks I’m a bad person for selling text ads. I’m now persona non grata, with my ‘Page Rank’ knocked from a 4 to a 0. Ouch. Since most of my referrals come from readers, emails, and discussion forums, I’ll continue to blog along in obscurity and use the teeny bit of income from ads to pay for hosting. Works for me.

Josh went ahead and did something I have been wanting to do for some time – updated his site theme over at Throughball.com. I really need to upgrade the theme here, just need to find the time to do it! Story of my life.

LDSM, Soccer Mom recently became a collegiate Soccer Mom and wow has her son had a heck of a season. This shot is amazing stuff.

Looks like Old Soccer Guy got busy with his teams as well. Here’s hoping he surfaces again now that Fall is wrapping up.

Oh yeah – those youth soccer forums I keep talking about, but never seem to release. I’m this close, but as you can see, still have some theme work to do (thus the blue elements that I haven’t converted to green yet. Tedious.) But hey – it’s up and running, so if you want to try it out, go for it. Maybe I’ll finally have them ready for prime time as people hunker down for the winter.

US Youth Soccer launched a new website. Seems like a decent step forward, though you can’t register without giving a name, address, and phone number?!?!? and even if you submit that, the registration fails to process. Ooops. They’ll supposedly have blogs and forums coming online soon too – though their previous attempts at blogging seemed half hearted at best and were primarily regurgitated talking points.

UPDATE: Wow! So I try to sign up again, using a bogus mailing address, and they’re actually doing address verification just to sign up for a website account! Even worse, the error message says ‘Your billing address is invalid’ Billing for what? Nobody is going to create website accounts unless they already pay for a Coaches Connection membership. That’s just bizarre. Most websites require a name and an active email account to create a website account. Only when you use it to buy something will they require more personal info. And the new blog? No RSS Feed!

Oh, you want to know what’s been going on with me? Well that’ll have to wait until another blog post… 🙂 Promise it’ll be posted sooner rather than later. Really. I mean it this time. Honest.
