		<description>I like the idea of modeling what the European (especially the English) do.  There&#039;s a another, similar model, in ice hockey.  It is called major juniors (16,17,18) year olds unconnected to high schools, colleges or pro teams.

Serious late teen players certainly need to be liberated from their schools/towns/states.

The NHL gets some good players from the colleges and there is a good mix of college kids and kids that came through the rough and tumble major juniors.  The concern with the college system is the lack of games and short season.

Certainly, 16 and 17 year olds should be eligible for drafting.</description>
